We’re always on the lookout for great people: people with unusual voices who bring joy, beauty, and hope to the world.

Over the years, we’ve been lucky to collaborate with people from all walks of life, cooks and gardeners, scientists and sculptors, artists and entrepreneurs.

We’re so excited about all the talented folks we’re working with right now; we’d love to give you a sneak peek at them and their work.

The moment you spot one of Pandr Design Co’s vibrant, eye-catching murals, you can’t help but smile. The San Diego–based company, founded by artists Roxy Prima and Phoebe Cornog, specializes in creating stunning art for residential and commercial clients, and their beautiful work has graced walls from South Dakota to Savannah, Georgia, Texas to Tasmania. When they’re not out in the field painting, Roxy and Phoebe are hard at work on their other passion: uplifting fellow female artists and entrepreneurs. Two years ago, Phoebe and Roxy founded Ladies Who Paint, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering female and female-identifying artists by spotlighting their work online and IRL, through an annual mural walk. Meanwhile, on their Instagram (@pandrdesignco), the duo dispense sage advice about running a creative business.

We’re so proud and excited to be agenting Phoebe and Roxy, and guiding them through publication for their book, Wonder Walls. In this friendly, how-to guide, out this fall, Phoebe and Roxy will share tips, tricks, and techniques for bringing art into your own space. Wonder Walls includes 25 inspiring projects, each accompanied by step-by-step instructions. To hear more about Pandr—and why murals make us happy—check out our interview with the artists

Emma Block

As an illustrator, Emma Block is finely attuned to the wonders and delights around us: from the intricate shapes and forms in a building facade to the stunning peach and amber hues of foliage in the fall. Over the years, the London-based artist has captured such wonders in images that have appeared everywhere, from books to magazines, textiles to product packaging. We were fortunate to meet Emma seven years ago, when we selected one of her images for the cover of Everyone Loves Paris. Since then, we’ve agented her on several books, including The Joy of Watercolor—an inviting how-to guide with “happy lessons for painting the world around you”—and Get Started with Gouache, in which the artist shares tips and tricks for working in the underrated medium.

In her newest book, Slow Travel: The Small Delights of Going Away, Emma focuses on the small pleasures of breaking from the quotidian routine—whether that’s on a big trip or a day-cation. Pairing thoughtful prompts with her own glorious illustrations, the journal invites you to slow down and take note of everything around you: from the color of the sky to the rhythms of the music on the radio, from the feeling of the air on your face to the smells and tastes of the local food. Before long, you’ll be seeing the world more like Emma does: as a place full of infinite wonder and delight.

Like us, Anna Voloshyna loves bringing people together around food. Four years ago, the cook and photographer—who came to San Francisco from her native Ukraine—hosted an Eastern European pop-up dinner, filled with flavors from her homeland. That meal was such a success, Anna was inspired: Since then, she has hosted hundreds of pop-up dinners and cooking classes, teaching students how to make crispy latkes with brown-butter applesauce, Slavic crepes full of chicken and mushrooms, and, of course, handmade Russian dumplings. As soon as Anna and I shared our love of latkes, we knew that we were kindred spirits. And so, it’s with great pleasure that we’re producing Anna’s cookbook, Budmo! Through this delightful cookbook, due out next fall, Anna will invite readers everywhere to her table. The title, which means “cheers” in Ukrainian, couldn’t be more apt, as Budmo! will be a joyous celebration of Slavic food and culture, with photographs shot by Anna herself.

During my time at KiwiCo, I had the good fortune of collaborating with illustrator Carlianne Tipsey. Carlianne got her start at Disney Interactive, and her joie de vivre shines through in each one of her clever, cute illustrations, whether it’s depicting a flower vase filled with kittens, or a little girl dancing in the rain. On her Instagram (@carliannecreates) and YouTube channel, she generously dispatches drawing advice, lessons and tips for making cute art. Carlianne is a wonderful teacher, and we’re overjoyed to be producing her upcoming book, How To Draw Adorable: Joyful Lessons for Making Cute Art, coming out spring 2022.

Lorene Edwards Forkner

Watercolors by Lorene Edwards Forkner

The former editor of Pacific Horticulture Magazine and the author of The Beginner’s Guide to Growing Great Vegetables, Lorene Edwards Forkner sees the garden as a creative outlet, as a quiet respite, and as a place of infinite wonder and possibility. And so, three years ago, as she grappled with grief, the designer and author turned to her garden for a meditative 100-day creative practice: Each day, she would head out to the garden and pick a beautiful flower, plant, stone, shell, or piece of bark. She would then carefully examine her find—a scarlet maple leaf, perhaps, or an iridescent oyster shell—and then do a poetic rendering of its colors in paint. That practice turned into a gorgeous Instagram feed (@gardenercook) which we helped guide into a beautiful book. In Color In and Out of the Garden, Lorene will share her gift for seeing color in the garden with readers.

Check out Lorene’s stunning color work on her Instagram.
